Shirshah Samar

Shirshah Samar serves as the Volunteer Country Director of Afghan Humanitarian Aid (AHA), where he leads field operations and program implementation across Afghanistan. A dedicated humanitarian and development professional, Shirshah brings years of experience working with government agencies, national NGOs, and grassroots organizations to uplift vulnerable communities.

He holds a Master’s degree from the University of Pune (India) and has previously led impactful initiatives with organizations such as the Green Afghanistan Education Organization (GAEO) and Ibrar Charity Foundation. His work has focused on empowering youth through education, digital literacy, and English language training, while also advocating for the dignity and inclusion of marginalized groups, including widows and returnee families.

At AHA, Shirshah plays a vital role in delivering emergency food assistance, coordinating local volunteers, and ensuring transparency and community engagement at every level. He is deeply committed to sustainable change—believing that lasting progress begins with meeting urgent needs and grows through opportunity, dignity, and local leadership.

His vision is a world where no child goes to bed hungry, no widow is left without dignity, and no family is denied the chance to thrive. He believes in a future where poverty does not define potential—and where waste becomes responsibility, reminding us that the food we discard in seconds could feed a family for a day.

His mission is clear and compassionate:
– In the short term, to meet urgent needs through food, shelter, and hope—because survival must come first.
– In the long term, to help build sustainable solutions through small-scale jobs, skills training, and real pathways out of poverty—because dignity is found not in handouts, but in the ability to stand tall and self-sufficient.
